Rory McIlroy's hopes for ending an eight-year wait for a Major have been crushed by two terrible holes at PGA Championship.

RORY McILROY'S eight-year Major championship drought ended at Southern Hills, where he was defeated at two of his shortest holes. McIlroy found water on the par three sixth hole to score a double birdie five, but still looked stunned as he dropped shots to seven and eight and fell off the leaderboard.
